Claude Monet - The turkeys
Year: 1877 - oil on canvas 172.5x174.5 cm
Preserved at: Musée d'Orsay, Paris, France.
Claude Monet's Turkeys plays a group of turkeys pecking in the meadow. Some male specimens are intent on making the "wheel" with the tail feathers.
The painting Turkeys was intended, like others, to decorate the Rottenburg castle in Montgeron, which can be glimpsed in the background, owned by the wealthy businessman Ernest Hoschedé.
