Claude Monet painted The Bridge of Argenteuil depicting in the left foreground some sailing boats moored with their sails lowered. On the right, however, the bridge whose spans rest on mighty masonry pillars. At the head of the bridge stands a turret with a dense forest in the background.
The shapes and colors of the boats and the landscape are reflected on the water.
