Vincent van Gogh created Willows at Sunset, a work of extraordinary strength, with a great emotional impact.
The sun is a disk from which long rays full of energy emanate. In the foreground, the tall dry grass of the field from which the profiles of three bare willows rise, arranged on a diagonal line. A central blue stripe marks the horizon and separates the sunburnt field from the sky of an intense yellow color, given off by the sun.
